MINI-WINDER

The MINI-WINDER and EZ-WINDER offer increased production and more safety to coiling and packaging operations. The method of operation can be as follows:

1. Operator retrieves tubing or wire from a bundle.
2. It is placed onto the turntable and secured between two pins on the mandrel.
3. The "cycle" push button or foot switch starts the coiling.
4. The machine rotates the exact number of turns necessary to produce the desired coil. The number of rotations are programmed by setting  on the machine.
5. Upon completion of the coil, the pins on the mandrel drop down enabling the operator to slide the coil off the table for packaging or taping.
6. After a time delay, the pins on the mandrel return to the up position ready for the next operation.

SPECIFICATIONS:

• Free standing 18" (457 mm) wide x 25" (635 mm) long x 10 1/2" (267 mm) high.
• White laminated top with anodized extruded aluminum frame. 
• Turntable is approximately 8" (203 mm) diameter. It is made of UHMW plastic, delrin or equal.
• The turntable can accommodate several coil diameters by moving the mandrel pins. The pins are unscrewed by hand (or hex wrench) and set in a new position. The pins are 1/4" (6.35 mm) diameter and 1 1/2" (38 mm) high.
• The drive of the machine uses a variable speed motor with speed control. The direction the motor is capable of turning in either direction.
• Electrical requirements are 120/240 VAC.
• Air required is 80 psi (4kgf/c² ). A filter/regulator is supplied.
• A plc is used to operate the machine.  The Mini-Winder can change speeds during the coiling operation which allows it to slow down automatically.
• All product contact materials other than the laminated work surface are stainless steel or UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) plastics.
• The MINI-WINDER is operated so that the mandrel pins automatically retract.  It can be switched so that the mandrel pins remain up after the coiling cycle.  A push button is supplied that will retract the pins manually if needed.
• A "Jog" function is available to operate the turntable manually by pushing a button or stepping on a foot switch.  This is used when the automatic counting of rotations is disabled.
• The machine is equipped with a Pause/Resume push button which enables the operator to stop the coiling in the middle of an operation and resume from the point on which they stopped.  It also serves as a safety mechanism.

EZ-WINDER

The EZ-WINDER is the same as the MINI-WINDER except that the mandrel pins do not retract. No pneumatics are required.
