Medi-Winder TM
Quotation:
The proposed method of operation is as follows:
1] Operator retrieves the end of the tubing.
2] It is placed and secured between two pins on the turntable.
3] The operator selects the pre-programmed coil cycle or creates a program by setting the controls. Each program contains a preset number of rotations then stops.
4] The operator steps on the foot switch or pushes a button and begins coiling. The operator need not maintain the switch during the cycle process.
5] The turntable rotates the exact number of turns necessary to produce the desired coil. Upon completion of the coil, the pins on the turntable retract, enabling the operator to quickly slide the coil into packaging. After a short time delay, the pins return to the up position, ready for the next coil.
6] The operator also has the option of running the Medi-Winder™ directly from the foot switch without automatic counting and stopping. This is a jog function.
The Medi-Winder™ consists of:
A] Free standing 30"(762 mm ) X 60" (1524 mm) stainless steel table with an anodized aluminum frame. The unit stands approximately 34" (864 mm) high. It is mounted on locking casters. The entire machine is self contained...there are no remote panels.
B] The turntable is approximately 12"(305 mm) diameter and will be made from UHMW, or equal. The turntable will have provision to accommodate several coil sizes and shapes by moving the mandrel pins. The pins are unscrewed and set in a new position. They are stainless steel and have a maximum. pin height of 3"(76 mm) unless specified other. Turntable diameter can be larger on special order; Pins can be taller on special order.
C] The drive unit uses a 1/4 hp variable speed motor with speed control. The number of revolutions will be preset so that the job is selected and is ready to run. The Medi-Winder™ programming can be changed on the key pad. The machine will have the capability to change speed once, during the coiling cycle. It will also have a reversing switch should the operator prefer to wind in the opposite direction.
D] The entire drive unit is mounted under the turntable. It requires 120/240 VAC 50/60 hz, 100 psi (10.5kg/cm). The Medi-Winder™ is equipped with a filter, regulator.
E] A programmable controller (PLC) is used to set the number of rotations and all timing functions required to make a coil. A push button station is supplied with a Pause Switch which is also serves as a safety stop button.
F] All product contact materials other than the laminated work surface are stainless steel or UHMW plastics.
G] The Medi-Winder™ can be run in an automatic or manual mode. In the automatic mode, the machine cycles, retracts and returns to the original position automatically. In the manual mode the operator retracts the mandrel pins by push button. The counter recycles and all other functions are the same. The manual mode is used when additional assembly work is performed on the coil while it is still on the mandrel.
H] The turntable direction can be changed, the speed of the turntable is adjustable in two modes up to 167 rpm, all timing functions can be adjusted.
